True to recent mantra, the changes that Dead Eye has experienced recently have continued just the same as the week has passed. Just as he was shipping off the things that he chose to have go to his new house in Long Beach, Indiana, he signed a contract with REDEFINE Pro. Early in the week, he had a bit of trouble sleeping contemplating being halfway across the country from his mom and sister, Karin, and his best friend, Carmen Cambridge. With the signing and subsequent visit to Chicago on Friday, Dead Eye would have Karin with him on move-in day, easing that anxiety quite a bit.
The two arrived in Indianapolis Thursday afternoon and went to a dealership to pick out a car for the two to use when traveling for nearby events on the weekends. Afterward, Dead Eye was talked into taking it easy as much as possible for the weekend (outside of wrestling Saturday, naturally) since his sleep was so sparse early in the week. Last week, Dead Eye would have Karin feel spoiled during the week they spent together at the vacation home; this weekend, she'd return the favor. Karin cooked the two a delicious shrimp pasta with garlic bread while Dead Eye watched his Arizona Cardinals win on Thursday Night Football. Having someone so close that cared about his personal well-being so much and not just about what he could do for them was something different (outside of family). It was certainly one of the welcomed of the recent changes. The two would spent most of the night just enjoying the quiet, quality time until Karin would fall asleep on his chest on the new sofa. Also true to recent mantra, Dead Eye wouldn't fall asleep until after sunrise.

{Scene Opens: Dead Eye's Long Beach, IN home}
The scene opens with Dead Eye sitting on his back patio slightly after noon on a brisk, partly-cloudy afternoon. The sleep wasn't long in duration, but it was certainly refreshing for Dead Eye. As he leaned back and looked over his new property, he took a sip from his insulated coffee mug and smiled. Maybe this might be so bad, after all, he thought. He heard the sliding door open from behind him. When he turned his head back, he caught a perfect glimpse of the sunlight that broke through the spaces of the branches and reflected off of Karin’s face. Before he knew it, an ear-to-ear smile was on his face as he stretched his left arm out to beckon his girlfriend to his lap.
Dead Eye:
You look even more beautiful than usual. How'd you sleep?
Karin:
I slept okay, except for you being up all night again. I'm worried, Charles.
She turns her head to look directly at him with her expression completely showing the amount of worry that is in them.
Dead Eye:
You have nothing to be worried about, bae. I know sleep and I haven't been on good terms lately; it's just been all the nerves with the move. Now that, after today, we'll have most of all this settled...along with the fact that I've decided on a schedule from now on, things should be back on-track soon. Besides, I actually rested most of last night thanks...to...you…
He lightly pokes her on the shoulder and rubs her cheek, as he frequently does.
Karin:
I will be keeping an eye on you when I'm not here to make sure. I have my ways, you know?
He gives her a puzzled look.
Karin:
What was with all the cursing this morning?
Dead Eye:
Heard that, huh? Well, Avery decided to try and grow some nuts and called you a bitch again, so now our match is a street fight. I tried warning him not to cross dat line he ain't ready for, but obviously he thinks maybe if he can make his balls drop against me that might help further his personal goals at home. Sorry, I try not to go after people's family, especially if they don't really have anything to do with this biz...but he didn't get the message I sent with Carmine about talking that bull about you. I won't stand for these jive-ass crackers calling you that. Not gon happen.
A proverbial fire burns behinds his eyes with the anger behind his words. Karin grabs his hands, knowing the touch will calm him down, at least a little.
Karin:
I can stand up for myself, Charles. We both know they're saying those things because they know they can't beat you, so they want to try to hurt you the only way they can. Seems like it's working to me.
Karin gives him a "Think so?" type look. Dead Eye soaks the words in and has a complete change is expression.
Dead Eye:
You right, baby girl. Hate and jealousy has a strange way of taking surface, even in people like Avery. I'm Gucci, and I'll be even more so after I teach him the error in his ways next Saturday. For now, I refuse to ruin this precious time I have with you. Let's go pick out this bedroom furniture. It'll be nice to sleep in a bed tonight.
Karin:
Yes, it will. The couch is comfortable, but my back is a little stiff.
Dead Eye:
Yeah, me, too. You got everything you need? We should go straight to Chicago after we finish the furniture shopping.
Karin:
Is your cousin going to come wait for them?
Dead Eye:
Yeah, Marcus is on his way already.
Karin:
I like him. And you said you didn't know anyone here.
Dead Eye:
I know, but it's not quite the same as having you here with me.
Karin:
I know, bae. Come on. Let's go shopping.
