Coming off of a highly anticipated match against Gemini, it was spoiled by the debuting Ethan Birch. Ethan threw his name in the hat when he came in to attack... in the end, all three men were booked this week in a Triple Threat match in which the winner goes on to NGSE: HOMECOMING for a shot at the Heavyweight Title.
Last show... you got involved in our match... and I am calling YOU out Ethan Birch. This was to be the first main event of NGSE, and you had to go and ruin it. Good job... but that is okay, I like facing opponents that feel like they need to prove something. See... Gemini and myself knew from the beginning that things in NGSE would pickup quite quickly and signed on the dotted line ready for day one to begin. We were ready to make an impact, and tear the house down in Akron, Ohio... but you decided to ruin that party. You wanted to make yourself known? Good. And I am sure that you believe yourself to be in the Heavyweight Title picture... why the hell not? Let's get the record straight before either of you stake your own claims... this is MY title to win... this is MY legacy to cement... and this is MY company to take leadership of. Every company has the face of the company... and you are looking at him. I will lead this company into the future... and I will do so by leading by example. I was ready to walk out last week and make my debut win against a great opponent, but it looks like I will have to win this little three-way dance.
[The camera stops for a minute in front of Hayden as they have come to a 't' intersection. Hayden looks both ways, and takes a right while the cameraman scurries to get back in front of him to continue filming. As they walk down this more congested highway, various officials and ring crew are making their way back and forth down the hall. Some are even pushing metals carts of equipment for the arena to be setup]
And the bonus to have on top of winning this match... earning a spot in the title match at NGSE: HOMECOMING? It sounds like I know exactly what I need to do.
[Hayden smirks a bit as he knows what he is in for, and having the odds against him is something that he has been accustomed to for months now]
Having the odds against me? Nothing new. I have prevailed from failing company to failing company, and yet here I stand again... but this time I don't have to right the riff-raff of other "talent" that have been stinking up this industry for years in other failing companies. NGSE is a fresh start for myself and for this industry; NGSE can lead by example and show how a great organization is supposed to succeed.
[Hayden stops at a door marked "Talent" as he walks in. There is a spread of food and drinks out on a table at one end of the room. He grabs a bottle of water and a green apple. He moves to a table and has a seat. There seems to be no one around as Phoenix continues to address the match towards the camera]
I know that coming into this match, you have made enemies of both Gemini and myself... but we are both smart enough to know that this is every man for himself. I am sure that playing the math game of us versus you is the easy answer, but I don't look past your skills to get us to turn on each other. I may not have the most experience, but I am experienced enough to know what to expect and what I need to do. I have faced off in singles competition, tag matches, triple threats, a four way match, and even a timed elimination match. I have won every one of those matches... so I know how to adapt to my surroundings. I know that I cannot count on Gemini helping me to keep you out of the match, but I am sure that we can come to some sort of understanding as this match was meant to be supposed to be just him and I. In the end I am not worried... just another bump on the road to glory.
[Hayden gets up from the table as the camera begins to follow him again, but he stops and shakes his head no. Hayden leaves the room from a different door as the scene ends with him exiting]
