Originally founded as New Generation Wrestling (NGW) [formerly known as NGSE], the company began in the early 2000s as a local training facility in the Akron, Ohio area by former local amateur wrestler turned professional wrestler, LC Jackson. Jackson was able to help train those off the street that had dreams and aspirations of Professional Wrestling. After some financial struggles for the semi-retired wrestler turned trainer, a hotshot tech mogul named Devlin Scott crossed paths with Jackson. Scott had long been a fan of professional wrestling, and can recall matches in which LC Jackson was wrestling in Scott's hometown of Pittsburgh, PA. Scott saw an opportunity to get involved in a sport that he loved for so many years, and a chance to work with an idol of his. After a bit of a rocky start, the school became popular in the Great Lakes region and saw talent coming from all around. Jump forward to 2015, Scott wanted to take their idea on step further and started what is now known as NGW, New Generation Wrestling. His thought was that many companies try to be emulate the 90's Era of wrestling of WWF/WCW/ECW, and it was time for the sport to evolve into something new, something different. He wanted to be on the leading edge of this change, this evolution of professional wrestlers. Instead of basing the promotion on a gimmick or a crutch, he wanted to show top notch talent to a regional fanbase that would appreciate it. Eventually a sister-promotion by the name of Anzac Pro Wrestling based out of New Zealand would be bought out by NGW. This would be the push that Devlin Scott was needing to take NGW both National and Global. His sights are obviously set on becoming one of the biggest players in the industry, but for now he is happy trying to notch out his own section of professional wrestling.
Devlin Scott has sold a partial stake in NGW to Kevin Hill of UWL (United Wrestling League) as a way to help promote NGW and recruit new talent, while furthering the push of UWL into the industry. As UWL came to a close in Mid-2015, Devlin Scott bought all shares back as continues many of its relationships with many of its affiliates.
NGW has a show every two weeks from a different city. The shows began in the Great Lakes Region but will be branching out in 2016 nationally and globally including tours of California and New Zealand. Each Live Event started off being broadcast on their website along with selling DVDs or in Digital form, but eventually they got a spot on axsTV with the show "Vendetta". In addition to the show the promotion also holds Live Broadcasts on Pay-Per-View.
In late 2015, NGW purchase a building in Youngstown, Ohio and have named is the New Generation Factory. This location serves as a training facility both for new and existing talent. Devlin Scott also plans on hosting showcase shows from the location in the near future.
In 2017, the doors to NGW closed and later in the year a brand new promotion opened. The company is Redemption Wrestling! redemptionfed.boards.net/
