002 * Preparations (FSW)
Scene 001 - NGW Factory - Youngstown, Ohio - August 6th, 2016
OFF CAMERA
*Avery Miles III is sitting in the backstage area. He watches the live feed from the arena as his girlfriend Taylor Devereaux is taking on Bok Choy inside of the ring. As he watched, he can see Taylor ready to finish the match. She gets to her feet, lifts Bok Choy to his feet, and hits a Reverse DDT driving him back down. She makes the pin as the cameras catch a little bit of cockiness to her as she smirks. One. Two. Three. The bell rings. Taylor stands up as the referee holds her hands high into the air. Avery offers a smile, proud of his girl for her first professional win. She makes her way up the ramp and into the back. Knowing the layout and the backstage commotion, it was a few minutes before she appears in the doorway of the locker room in which Avery was waiting. See her in her ring gear and knowing that the love of his life was just a phone call away, it made Avery realize that happenstance had a wonderful serendipity to it.*
Avery: Hey there, winner.
*She gives him a lopsided smiles and then a wink.*
Taylor: It was like he didn't even try.
*She shakes her head, disappointment on her face now.*
Taylor: I don't want to face these people that just give up as soon as they know it's me they face. I thought starting in Alpha would get me better adjusted but it's like I'm in between. Better than a lot of those in Alpha but not quite at the standard of NGW.
*She grabs her water bottle and sits on the bench beside him.*
Avery: Easy killer. This is your… second match? I know you are confident and trained by the best, but geeze. One match at a time. Though who knows who you will be facing next show. Let’s just enjoy tonight and your win!
*He pats his knee for her to join him*
Avery: Come on over here, I want to hug the winner.
Taylor: Even though I'm all sweaty?
*She smiles salaciously, standing in front of him*
Avery: Well… maybe after we can shower. Together?
*He teases her before his expression changing to a more serious one*
Avery: So you know, I am meeting Ash tomorrow in Vegas. I want to get her perspective on the whole meds thing. I just, I didn’t mean to have done what I did. And I just, I didn’t want you to be disappointed in me that I was on medicine. I just want to be all that I can be… for you, and for Brooklyn.
*She reaches forward to caress the side of his face.*
Taylor: Taking medication does not make you any less of a person, Avery. It takes a lot of courage to admit you need help and then get that help. It doesn't change my feelings for you and it certainly doesn't change the fact that the little girl back in Vegas still sees you as her hero.
*She leans forward while pulling his face up to meet her and gently kisses him*
Taylor: If talking to someone like Ashleigh gives you a different perspective and helps? Than I’m all for it.
Avery: You sure? I would never want to make you feel weird. Just, maybe she gets it? You know. I… I love you Taylor. You are the best thing to happen to me. And I know people say corny lines and everything in movies. But I mean it when I say this; hearing your voice on the other end of the phone, in a dark place in my life… you truly saved me.
*He wraps his arms around her and pulls her onto his lap. He kisses her softly on her lips*
Taylor: There is no way that any other woman will make me feel threatened Avery. I have seen where your heart is. Ash is... Different but not really unlike three-quarters of the wrestling population. We all have some degree of fucked-up-ness. Tell her I said hi.
*She reaches up to brush some of his longer hair behind his ear*
Taylor: Just remember Avery, I might still be that scared, unsure woman if not for your love and encouragement. I owe everything to you.
Avery: I never thought you would feel threatened, I just… I like things to be out in the open. You know? And no one is as perfect for me as you are.
*Avery smiles and kisses her cheek once more*
Avery: So about that shower…
*Taylor stands. She winks at him while walking toward the area of the small dressing room that held the shower. She moves behind the wall before something goes sailing over it to land at Avery's feet. Looking down he sees that it's the top of her wrestling gear. Then other pieces of her gear go flying until he knows that there is nothing possibly left.*

Scene 002 - Vegas Home of Avery & Taylor -Henderson, Nevada - August 7th, 2016
*Avery wakes up as the clock reads 11:11am. He looks over and Taylor is asleep. He whispers to her*
Avery: Hey babe. Morning. I am getting dressed to meet Ash at the coffee shop. I will be back soon.
*Avery kisses her on the forehead and heads out of their bedroom. They were in the process of finalizing the renovations of their Indio house, the same home that Taylor grew up in. Avery was in the process of setting up to sell the house in Vegas, but with FSociety being based there it actually might save some of the headache by keeping the house as well. It was a fairly modest house. Avery decided to use the windshield mount for his phone, turn on the camera, and hit record as he was driving. He would not focus on the phone, but just record his talking as the video recorded him watching for other traffic and lane changes*
Good morning FSociety. It is Sunday morning.. And I am looking forward to a great Main Event tonight at Anarchy. I face a man that is likely to become a great rival and a man I respect the hell out of; The Dropkick King himself, Adrien Cochrane. It is not everyday that I fight someone that offers respect back to me. It has become the norm in this industry. I’ve touched on that before a bit, but I just like to personally thank Adrien for being an upstanding man in a world of shitheads.
*Avery looks over his shoulder, checks a mirror, and makes a lane change. The video can pick up cars parked on either sides of the street as he is entering a more commercial area*
A well decorated champion is who Adrien Cochrane is. A man that appears to just be getting started and has a stream of titles at the grasp of his hands. It would be wrong of me to say that as I am just starting to hit my stride, find my flow… Adrien is in the prime of his career potentially. He has a few on his record already, but he looks to add more to them. A man with a reckless abandon mentality, not unlike yours truly. I’ve sat and watched some film on him, and I know that our styles work very well. At the same time, I just accomplished a personal feat of mine by winning a tournament in a company that prides itself on the aerial and quick-paced attacks of the Lucha style.
I am not going to allow myself to be an easy win for anyone. I might not be the more experienced, and our styles are well matched. I can’t any sort of speed advantage. But I know that being put in this spot I am going to have all of the eyes on myself and Adrien. We will battles in the first ever FSW Main Event. We will set the standard for what future Main Events should be. And I have a chance to being what is going to be a historical week for me. I have prepared as much as I could, but when we enter that ring and the bell is rung, I am more ready than I will ever be.
*Avery pulls up to a red light as Sunday morning traffic is not too heavy in this part of town. Some light foot traffic on the sidewalks. People on their way to or from Church possibly. The light turns green and Avery hangs a left hand turn.*
This match is not about good versus evil. It is not some bitter rivalry. It is not about old friends that turned on each other. It is simply a week one matchup of two potential champions. Two men that would love to carry a company on their back, and become the face of the brand. Money and fame aside, the honor to carry a brand is one that cannot be replaced. I got into this business because I was actually good at it. I enjoyed it. It became my passion in life. And for a company to trust me enough to book me in the Main Event… to possibly allow me to be the face of their company. That is honor. That is what can begin a true legacy of a man. That is when a man begins the path to become a legend. I know that I would love to become a legend in this sport. What about you Adrien? Would you like to show the fans in attendance, and those watching at home what a Main Event between two potential legends looks like? I know I would.
*Avery smiles as he pulls into the parking lot of Cool Beans Coffee Shop.*
I know that being a third generation wrestler I might have some sort of benefits. But my father and his before him literally broke their back. My grandfather had to quit to serve in the war. And my father? He had to sell books as a door-to-door salesman. Not a very flashy job. They paid their dues. And I have made sure to pay mine. I’ve worked hard. Busted my ass. And I want the whole world to see it.
I think it is important to know that if we both go out there, we put on the best showing that we can, and tear the roof off… a loss is just a small bump in the road. Neither of us want it. Neither of us will lose our career over it either. That said, I will do everything in my power to come away with a win. I want this so badly. I want to carry a company onto my back. I’ve tried a couple of times before. I’ve Main Evented before. And those companies have closed their doors. I did my part. I did what I could. I pushed to be the best and in the end, not every company survives. I feel good about FSociety. And it shows, they feel good about me as well.

*We open as Avery Miles III and Alechs Aurelio are inside of the ring sparring. Avery shoots him off into the ropes. Alechs rebounds to a Japanese Arm Drag from Avery. Back up to his feet, Avery jumps for a standing moonsault, but Alechs rolls out of the way. A quick momentum gain from the ropes, and Alechs uses a bulldog to Avery as he gets back up to his feet. Alechs uses a magistral cradle but Avery kicks out immediately. He kips back up to his feet as Alechs charges him. A quick knee to the gut, and Avery hits a Lifting single underhook DDT and drops Alechs to the mat. Avery drops for the cover*

Alechs: For real though, when you gon’ put a ring on that. She is so down for you, man.
Avery: I just want it to be right. I don’t want it to feel forced.
Alechs: Come on man, don’t punk out.
*Avery shares a small smirk*
Alechs: What?
Avery: Well… I sort of have a ring already.
Alechs: You dirty dog!
Avery: It was my grandmother’s ring. She wanted to pass it along to me. My mom was saving it for me I guess. I just learned about it when we visited them recently. I think Tay will LOVE it. But please don’t say anything.
*Alechs makes a zipper motion on his mouth*
Avery: Good. Now, let’s get back to getting ready for our matches. One of us has to win… and I am betting on the house.

*Avery Miles III is sitting backstage, just a mere hour before the first FSociety Wrestling Anarchy goes live. He is wearing his black pants, blue boots, blue gloves, and blue hoody. He has headphones on are music is playing to cancel out any outside noise. He is completely focused as his eyes are closed. His door remains open as staff shuffle back and forth down the hall. Avery opens his eyes, but leaves the music going on his ears*
Six months ago. I went through one of the hardest times in my life. Dedicated a match to the ones I loved. And lost. And I came up short. That is a tough pill to swallow. A match that I wanted so very badly. And I couldn’t get the job done. But I am not that same man anymore. I am better. More prepared. Better trained. Better suited for the upper echelon of talent. Back in February I was just getting my feet wet. I was going up against one of the best NGW champions to date, and she was trained by one of the very best. She had a leg up. And I was just trying to keep up. Now? It would be a very different story. I would not let her set the pace. I would lead things. And that is my plan here in FSociety. I am not going to allow myself to hide in the shadows. I am not going to sit back and let others take the spotlight. It is time for Avery Miles to be the draw.
I’ve come along way, and still have awhile to go. I am far from being the main draw, but that is the spot I am eyeing. I know I have my work cut out for me, and there is no other way I would want it. I am up for a challenge, and I was given just that tonight. Adrien Cochrane. The Dropkick King himself. I am not sure if Chris Night or Robb Hardy believe in me? Or if they just want a big main event for Cochrane. Regardless, I am here and I am going to make the most of it. It is a chance to earn what could be a huge moment in my career. And the rumors going around that something special might be happening on the first card? It intrigues me even that much more.
I am doing this not for the allure of some special thing. Or to prove to people like Jenson Idol, Tyson Gregory, or any other doubters that I am who and what I say I am. I am doing this for me. And my family. I do this to show Taylor that her boyfriend can back up what he says. He is someone to lean on. Someone that will not crumble when the pressure is on.
And I do this for Brooklyn. To show that you do not need to be the biggest. Or the strongest. To know that you can do it on your own, and that I can be a role model for her. I am already a hero in her eyes, and I want this hero to stand atop of FSociety Wrestling in the very first Main Event with his arms raised. I want Brooklyn to grow up and to remember… I want her to say… “That is my dad.”
I do this for honor. For my legacy. I do it for my own passion. And my drive. Most of all. I do it for them. I do it for the ones that I love. They are the reason I work hard. They are the reason I put my body on the line. Why I bust my ass to improve each and every day. Why I want to push myself to my own limits. I have only a finite time to live my dream. A finite amount of time to make things happen that I was to succeed at and accomplish. I’ve begun that ascension. I’ve done things. Won things. And tonight, I start anew along side my opponent Adrien Cochrane. Respect is what I offer him. Respect is what he deserves. But this is my time to shine. It is my time to step up to the plate and swing for the fences. I offer no apologies to Adrien because he is a competitor as well and would not want it any other way I am sure. Miles vs Cochrane. Remember that tagline. It will be a match of a lifetime. And somehow, I don’t think this is the last time we will see each other inside of the ring.
*Avery stands as he begins to get pumped*
Let’s do this Adrien. This is OUR time.
