001 * untitled debut (FSW)
Prologue
Avery Miles is a third generation talent. The miles name is one of local history books. He is technically Avery Miles III. His grandfather was the first in theline; a man of hard work and no funny business. He wrestled greco-roman style. He had his sights on the olympics before Avery’s grandmother got pregnant and he had to ship off to war. He gave up his dream, but he held on for his only son, Avery’s father. Avery Miles II. His grandfather wanted my father to follow in his footsteps, but seeing stars like Bruno Sammartino caused my father to pursue the regional scene that was professional wrestling. Wrestling on the West Coast was something he maintained as his roots were there, and he even traveled to Mexico for a time putting on shows in front of a handful of people at times. He literally broke his back to not get anywhere. He saw a great future for Avery. AM3i was a three sport athlete in high school playing baseball and football, as well as running track. College was never the plan, but giving a go at something he found to be a hobby was the path... or so he thought. Surfing, skating, boarding, bmx... you name it and he tried it. His own talents just never amounted to much. As a last ditch effort to avoid getting a real nine to five, going to his family's roots seemed like the last thing that he could try. At first it sucked. He hated It. it was not my passion. He enjoyed watching the product from the nineties. and watching old tapes of his father. But it was nothing more than a source of entertainment for him. Avery enrolled into a small wrestling school in Southern Cali and took many bumps and bruises; the SoCal Grappling Arts Center. He studied the sport; watching as many veterans as he could. He watched rising stars come and go, and he watched those that tried to stand in the spotlight but the bulb had just burned out on them. He wrestled on a small scale circuit in California and even toured a bit in Northern Mexico following the roots of his father. He had been scratching and clawing, trying to get a larger promotion to sign him to a deal. Months later, being both a Marquee and a Tag Team Champion, a winner of the Super Falcon Cup, and the winning captain of Team NGW Rising Stars… Avery Miles III looks to continue his success in a new destination. A destination with some of the best talents around the industry.

*Avery Miles III is sitting on the edge of a ring. Inside of the ring we see Alechs Aurelio getting in some last minute preparations before his flight out to Ohio for his Alpha Rising debut. Avery scans the gym as he keeps an eye on some of the newer talent. Avery has been running the wrestling school for a short time, but in that time his first student has debuts in Alpha Rising. His second student, debuts this weekend. And there is already a pipeline of students including Alechs and a newer talent, Jordyn Brynn. Avery sees his phone ring as he heads outside. He answers the phone*
Hey babe.
Yeah, it’s going well.
Yes. The ribs are good. Getting better.
Yes, I am staying out of the ring.
*Avery looks back inside*
Uh huh. I know. I will be back in a few hours. Just need to get Alechs ready. And then I will help to finish the painting. I promise.Uh huh. Okay. I love you too. Bye.
*Avery ends the call and heads back inside*
Alright; Big Chief. Alechs. I want you to round everyone up. We are going to has a session right now. I am going to kill two birds. I have a match this weekend to get ready for, as well as want to pass along some tips.
*The two of them round up everyone and they stand on the floor below the ring. Avery heads up into the ring carefully, still with ribs that are taped up. Avery grabs a mic and begins*
Cutting a promo is an important part of your career. Many talents can perform inside of the ring, but if they are not able to hype their match or get fans either angry at them or on their side, there is no build to it. It is easy if you are facing someone completely opposite of you; the real talent comes from building hype for an opponent that is someone you would maybe share a beer with. Someone that you wouldn’t mind hanging out and watching the game with. And that is what we are about to learn today. I am facing just that sort of opponent… Adrien Cochrane. He even has a pretty sweet nickname The Dropkick King.
*Avery leans over the top rope, and acts as if he is addressing an audience full of fans*
In this business, coming across people that remind you of yourself is not always the easiest thing. But with Adrien, it appears that we are two peas in a pod. I may not know the most about him as I have enough already going on, but I know that he is a bit of an aerial artists and a high flyer. I think that the both of us in this Main Event will draw a huge crowd for F Society. I, for one, am honored to be in the first ever Main Event.
Now the difference with Adrien and myself; he has years and experience on me. He’s been there, held titles, and I am just starting to hit my stride. I have some championships and some experience to catch up to Adrien, but I know that I have earned this Main Event. Working my ass off, putting in the time, and putting my body on the line… it is all going to pay off in the end.
I carry with me a legacy of my family. Tradition. Respect. Honor. I am sure those are things that Adrien holds in high esteem as well. It is a breath of fresh air fighting an opponent that won’t stoop to the level of personal shots or underhanded tactics. Coming into the first ever FSociety show, we get to lead by example and show what a Main Event should look like.
*Avery paces from turnbuckle to turnbuckle. He maintains eye contact as he holds the microphone to his side. Stopping once he is back in the middle, he lifts the mic back up to his mouth*
I’ve never held a heavyweight or world title. I have yet to win big, but it is still early in my career. Adrien Cochrane has already done that. He has been there. He has the experience. And he talked about making sure to carry a fire. Little does he know that a fire has burned inside of me the moment I stepped into a squared circle. I’ve fought some hard battles, battles against people like Dead Eye, Karin James, Aidan Carlisle, and an upcoming battle with Gavin Grimes. I know that this battle with Adrien will be among the hardest in my career, and a win would set me up for the big time in FSociety. Some say that I spread myself too thin, but with being the longest reigning NGW Marquee Champion and winning the Guerreros of Lucha Super Falcon Cup it seems like I am doing quite well. I cannot wait for Sunday night, Adrien. We are going to tear the house down!
*Avery smiles as he turns the mic off and addresses the school off camera*

Scene 002 - Home of Avery and Taylor - Indio, CA - August 3rd, 2016
Taylor paces the floor in the front foyer of the house. The whole time Avery is watching her.
Avery: Tay… relax. It is going to be okay. I am sure. And I am here, regardless. I promise. Just sit down babe.
Avery watches her continue. Back and forth. Left to right. Right to left.
She stops to look at him.
Taylor: He was raised by the Castles. How do I know he's not just like them. Rich and snobby. What if this is just a game?
Avery: We don’t. If you and him meet, and he is abrasive then you can say that you met him and go on about your lives. If you two connect as siblings and want to get to know each other, continue on. There is nothing you can do or any amount of pacing that will change it. Just relax. I am here. Worse case, I deck him.
He laughs, just teasing. She thinks.
Taylor: I’m just so... Just when I thought he'd already done the worst he drops this bombshell on me. The whole reason my mother went crazy was because of his lies. I don't understand any of it.
She sighs, walking over to sit in his lap gently, being careful not to put pressure on his ribs.
He wraps his arms around her.
Avery: It’s okay Taylor. He will be here any minute. I am here. We are doing this together. Brooky is over at my parents so she doesn’t have to deal or see any of this. Right now, at least. You are not alone anymore. Remember that. It is you and me now. Us.
He smiles, and kisses her cheek.
As if on que, the doorbell rings. It sounds off and Taylor winces.
Taylor: Add that to the list.
She has a brief smile before she gets up to answer the door.
Avery: Okay. Moment of truth. Let me answer it, okay?
He stands up and heads towards the door. Opening the door the man, or rather the boy gives Avery a lopsided smile. He looked amazingly similar to Taylor, but even more so to Brooklyn. His hair is an unruly mop of blonde curls and he has the same big blue eyes.
Daniel: Oh, hey... ummm. You must be Avery right? I'm Dan. Dan Castle.
He holds out a hand.
Avery sticks his hand to shake Dan’s hand.
Avery: Correct. And you are… is it Dan? Or Daniel? Just want to be sure.
He sizes Dan up, sort of a habit being a part of the business; but he means well.
Dan doesn't hold it long, in fact he almost seems scared to be there. In the driveway is a moped, a little worn out and mud covered.
Dan: Well, my friends call me Dan.
Avery: Well come on in Dan.
Avery pulls the door open as the light from the large door shines into the home. It is still in the process of being fixed up and refurbished, but Taylor has done a wonderful job already. Taylor sees Dan, and their eyes meet.
Avery: This this is Taylor, but I am sure that you already know that.
Dan steps forward and enters the home. Avery closes the door behind him.
Avery: Interesting… ride?
He smiles.
Dan runs a hand through his hair, he looks nervous. Mannerisms Avery had seen manifested in his girlfriend before. Taylor stands.
Dan: Oh... well yeah. I'm pretty good at it. The old folks don't approve of it
He gives a nervous chuckle and then looks at Taylor.
Taylor: Thanks... for coming...
Realizing that he needs to take the lead, Avery ushers them both into the living room.
Avery: Come on in here, we can have a seat. And maybe get to know each other some. I know this is likely awkward for the both of you. It is… a weird situation. What did you mean by old folks, Dan?
Avery takes a seat on the couch, Taylor next to him. Dan has a seat on a chair.
Dan: Oh... yeah my grandparents. They weren't too happy about me coming here either. They ummm... well I won't repeat what they said. I’ve wanted to meet you since I found out about you.
He still looks nervously at Taylor.
Avery: She is, nervous.
He smiles.
Avery: Tay… come on. The both of you should at least try to get to know each other a bit.
Avery looks over to him.
Avery: So, what did they tell you? What do you know? Maybe you both can fill in the gaps for each other?
Dan shrugs.
Dan: Well, They're just snobby. They don't like the whole half sibling thing. They thought I was better off not meeting you but I never really believed that. The last year I’ve been trying to find Dad and learning about my mom...
Taylor's brow furrows
Taylor: Wait, Half siblings and don't you mean OUR mom?
Dan’s eyes go wide
Dan: Umm, didn't Dad tell you?
He looks at Avery, fear in his eyes
Dan: Dad said he told her.
Avery: Umm, as far as we are aware, you both share the same mom and dad? Maybe you can clue us in?
He places his hand on Taylor’s leg, and the bounces it up and down in agitation.
Dan: Well... geeze I dunno if it's my place to say it now. He told me you knew.
Taylor clenches her fists.
Taylor: He wasn't man enough to tell me so he’s baited you into it. It's okay Dan. Just tell us
Dan: Well umm... we don't have the same mother. We're half siblings.
Avery wraps his arm around Taylor. He whispers to her.
Avery: It’s okay Tay. Relax.
He looks over to Dan.
Avery: You don’t have the same mother. So… you were the result of an affair? Pardon my brashness. I just… we want to get to the bottom of things. It is for the best.
Dan shakes his head.
Dan: No. Not me. Her. Our Dad had a girlfriend and... Taylor was the result.
He sees the look on Taylor's face and looks nervous again.
Dan: I was an accident. That's what my grandfather said. I'm sorry you know I didn't want it to go like this.
Avery: Tay. Taylor. You okay?
He looks at her, placing both hands on her cheeks.
Taylor: I don't know what to believe.
She stands.
Dan: Maybe I should go?
Avery: Give us a moment. Please?
Avery stands and takes Taylor by the hand into the kitchen.
Avery: Taylor. I know this is a lot to take in. If you need to stop it right here, we can do that. Or if you want to get to know him, he is trying. It’s not his fault your dad is a jackass. If you want to get to know him, you are going to need to speak up a bit. He is ready to walk out that door. And who knows if you will ever get a chance to meet him or talk to him again?
He places his hands on her shoulders, looking into her eyes.
Taylor: I really shouldn't be surprised that this came up. I don't think he's lying but how do I know what he was told was true. Or that Dan is even really my brother at all. I watched my Baby brother get buried when I was 4.
Avery: You don’t. But do you trust a lying father? Do you trust someone you just met? I would say hear him out. And maybe we can hire a private investigator? It is your call. I support you no matter what.
He kisses her lips to calm her.
Taylor: He looks like Brooklyn. I can't not see it. It's just a feeling I get too. I just can't trust the Castles either
She sighs.
Taylor: We owe him the chance to talk
Avery nods and they head back into the living room.
Avery: Sorry about that. It’s just… a lot to take in. You know? Would you like something to drink or anything?
Avery sees Taylor sit on the couch, a bit more relaxed.
Dan: Uh, no. No thanks. Ummm. Sorry for upsetting you. I don't really know too much. I know our Dad gave me to my grandparents because my mom was unstable. They raised me but I never really fit in.
He shrugs with a lopsided smile.
Avery: Well, I cannot speak for Taylor at this point but I would love to get to know you. Family is important to the both of us. And technically, are you an uncle as well.
Avery smiles at the thought of Brooklyn.
Avery: Her name is Brooklyn. And she is three. Looks just like her mommy. And well, pretty similar to you as well.
Avery looks over to Taylor.
Avery: Maybe we can continue to get to know each other?
Dan smiles again
Dan: I’d like to meet her. I mean, when your ready. I'm glad you let me come by
Avery: Maybe you and I can meet sometime, and get to know each other? And then when Taylor is a little more ready, she can talk more at that point. She just.. She has gone through a lot. So please do not take it as a slight to you. It is not personal.
Avery rubs Taylor’s back.
Dan: Naw man. Its cool. I get it. I uh. I know some of what happened. Dad kinda told me.
Avery: Okay. Well I will hit you up. And we will share hang out some time. My treat.
Avery kisses her cheek as he stands up and leads Dan to the front door. Avery shakes his hand as Dan exits their home. Avery closes the door and heads back to Taylor.
Avery: He seems; nice?
Taylor sighs.
Taylor: Everytime I think things are finally going good, I get handed another bad thing.
Avery: Taylor. We gotta take things as they come, and do what we can. We got through the thing with Jer, and we will get through this. And I am here with you every step of the way!
*Avery hugs her and kisses her as the scene comes to an end*

Scene 003 - Palm Springs International Airport - Palm Springs, CA - August 4th, 2016
*Avery Miles III sits on the plane. He is lucky enough to be in Economy, but not quite to the level of First Class yet. Flying gets expensive and penny pinching as much as possible is essential. Avery looks through a couple of magazines, but nothing catches his eye. He pulls his phone out and scrolls through his feed. He checks the FSociety website and sees that Adrien Cochrane cut a promo. Avery decides to watch it. As the video nears its end, the pilot comes over the PA system on the plane*
Ladies and gentlemen this is your Captain speaking. The flight has been delayed thirty minutes due to a passing thunderstorm. We will remain on the plane for now. Your flight attendants will bring by some beverages and snacks. Thank you for your patience.
*Avery decides to look around, the chair next to him is empty. Putting his things on the chair, he turns the camera on and hits record to get some filming in*
Family is an important part of my life. My girlfriend. Our daughter. My parents. Even those that are just close to me, I consider friends. Levi. Emma. I even share a close bond to Gavin and Ashleigh. Sometimes unexpected things happen in life, and discovering that Taylor has a brother is one of those things. All that we can do is move forward. We expand our family. Take on new challenges. Do our best. And continue forward. As far as challenges go, that is what I have ahead of me as I fly into Vegas this weekend. I’ve wrestled here before, and it is not something new to me. But FSociety, and Adrien Cochrane; they are both completely new to me. Ahead of us is a blank slate. The chance to draw in new fans. The ability to prove Chris Night and Robb Hardy correct as to why the both of us are in the Main Event. And the chance to come away with what could be a huge victory.
The career goal; win championships, lead a company, and retire as a Hall of Famer. Steps. It takes steps to get there. And this is step one in a brand new company. Come out swinging, and make sure that I come out on top. Now I’ve done some research and scouted Adrien a bit. I know that he is far from a slouch. And I know that he is coming into this match ready to prove something. He is ready to ascend to the top of a company. And he is ready to lead the rest of the roster.
*Avery smiles*
I want to do the same. I intend on doing the same. This match is going to be a battle of two like minded individuals. While I might be fine with Adrien leading a company, it is time for Avery Miles to step up and become the man. I have played my role. I have play the supporting cast. I have played the man to help the man. But it is time to become THE MAN. I’ve put in time and hard work. And I won’t allow this win to escape me. I have nothing negative to say about Adrien, and I know that this battle will not be easy. At the same time, Adrien wants to make sure that I have the fire inside of me coming into this match. I can only hope that his passion and drive can come to mine. Willing to put my body on the line. Coming into this match I am not one hundred percent as my ribs are sore, but that is not going to stop me at all. If it takes re-injuring them to win the match, so be it. I am willing to do put it all on the line for this Main Event. It is an honor to help lead FSociety in their first show, and I do not plan on letting anyone down. This is my time. The time of Avery Miles III.
Best of luck Adrien. We will both need it. Win or loss, after the match I intend on shaking your hand. I know that this is just the first of a series of matches we will have. And I cannot wait for the both of us to put on a display for the roster to see.
*Avery turns off the recording as an attendant bring Avery a bottle of water as the video comes to an end*
