Gavin Grimes: Hardworking Champion or Hand Picked Tool?
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the one and only DTO. And I am here to tell it how I see it and to open the eyes of the people watching NGW. Folks, not everything is as it seems and I do my best to wade through the crap and muck that is thrown up for your entertainment to show you the truth that lays hidden beneath.Lets go back to Atlanta and the Phillips Arena. Corey Bull and Dean Judas, the Angelz of Hate and Vengeance respectively, just had a grueling match where Dean Judas got pinned by Jack Diamond. And then, not down the ramp but from the crowd, here comes Gavin Grimes. The Champ. The King. The Phony perhaps? It has come to my attention that the facts and figures don't seem to add up. Certain things surrounding this attack seem out of whack for other things that have been stated. So lets break this down.
Fact: Gavin Grimes is the longest reigning champion. Corey Bull fell out of contention when the "Iron Dink" (patent pending) Dirk Bentley stuck his taser into him long enough to knock him out. Was Bull pissed, absolutely. To the point where the mans mind seems to have fractured.
Fact: Bull and Grimes had some issues, two months ago. Since then, the two have pretty much steered clear of each other. Except for a few calculated attacks that resulted in mostly bruised egos. Both men were suppose to square off, but it resulted in Bull just beating on Grimes, mostly to prove a point to Dirk Bentley via a Twitter argument. At least, that's how I see it based off the information in front of me.
But. When you look at this last attack, a lot of questions pop up. For instance, how come Devlin Scott was right there, right away? The man practically was foaming at the mouth. I'm surprised he didn't have a contract in his hand. Perhaps his was given a heads up? Perhaps he orchestrated the attack? It seems to point in that direction, since he was so adamant to announce the match with one man standing and the other lying unconscious. There are a ton of different sources and rumors that claim Gavin is the golden child and poster boy of Devlin Scott, a man so deep into shady dealings that someone needs to throw him a life preserver. It isn't a secret that he dislikes Corey Bull. If it wasn't for the fans and loss of revenue, he would have left Bull suspended. And while Grimes has worked hard to earn his title, other aspects of his career seem to have been lovingly caressed by the hands of Devlin Scott. You can't deny the mans work ethic, but there are so many other things that smell of sour grapes and septic tanks.
But lets get back to Grimes. Gavin has come off as the Golden Child. He portrays a man that has worked hard to get where he is and is beautiful as well. He is a handsome devil, isn't he. Not like me of course, but in that 80's boy band sort of way. But is this the REAL Gavin Grimes or is it just a pretty wrapper around a piece of crap? The man has an anger issue, something that can be seen on display on his twitter and in past NGW events. Add to this that he seems to take liberties with his wife that most men spend time in jail for, one that was in particular very public and placed right out there for the NGW viewers to see. Humiliation at its best, from a man that supposedly represents the people. At the same time, when it isn't all about him, he throws a major fit. Clear example was when Ashley decided she wanted to have her shot at the title, wanted to be in the spotlight for something special. Not for being treated like a child and thrown into a shower, or beaten by a large pussy in a metal jock strap. And this match we all knew was going to happen anyways. It wasn't a matter of if, just a matter of when. And he seemed...well he seemed like a child who just had his sucker taken away.
And now you get to the matter at hand. Why did he even offer Bull a shot? He has made it clear on Twitter to the entire world, that no one is really worthy of a shot at the title. Gavin likes to run that "fighting Champion" claim, but he turns down more title matches then a pyro. (See what I did there for you slow people?) And yet, he willing gave one to a man that has been out of contention and is obviously going through, something. And that attack was beyond the limit. To do that, then challenge the man? It seems to me he wanted to put himself into a position of power and standing rather then a real challenge. Maybe he was caressing his ego again, like he is so prone to do:
Let me see Gavin, who else does this "shit" as you so eloquently put it. Well, Corey Bull has, for at least two different shows. Dirk Bentley too. Huh, I see Heath Sommersby did so this last event. Even Avery Miles and Kenzie Rydell have done so. Does Gavin live in our world or does he truly believe he is the greatest there is and no one can do the things he does? Many people have done double duty for this federation, yet Gavin is the only one screaming for the attention that he is doing so.
And lets look at that attack. Bull is now sitting in an Atlanta, Georgia hospital in a coma. The reason? Pressure on the cranium causing him to lose consciousness and his ability to wake up, specifically the brain stem. For how long though? No one is certain, these things work out strangely. But, if you review the footage, you can see that Gavin attacks Bull in the very area that caused the damage. He didn't spread the damage around, but specifically and dangerously targeted this area, even using the turnbuckle pole and the outside arena floor to increase the damage. But was the attack necessary? Does this not hurt his image more then help it? I understand a good attack every now and then, one to remind your opponent or enemy that you are still lurking, but this was beyond that. And isn't Gavin suppose to be the hero of the people, the face of the place?
If I was a man that wanted to be seen as a fighting champion, then brutally assaulting the competition after a grueling match and causing them to receive life threatening damage, is not the route to go. But maybe, you scream from behind your computers, that it was an accident. Maybe, but was it? Where was the AoD? Sources tell me there was something blocking their locker room door. A forklift I was told. Strange how that happens right before an attack that takes out a man as important to them as Bull. Add in the quick response of Devlin, who seemed to be waiting in the wings, and you start to wonder if this wasn't more then just a retaliation attack.
I think Gavin Grimes is afraid. After all, he has a lot to be afraid of. Ashleigh Grimes is coming for his title. Corey Bull has him marked for a fight, title or no title. I read at least one challenge tweet to him a day. He is starting to feel the pressure. I think he purposely injured Bull, I think he and Devlin were behind it, and I believe he is truly afraid of the things coming for him down the road. You could tell he wasn't afraid of Dirk, and there really wasn't a reason to be. But he knows what lies in store for him.
You can take this how you want. I'm simple pointing out facts that lie before your eyes with out the colorful commentary of the people hired to hide you from the reality. But the reality is, Gavin Grimes purposely put a man in a coma because either A) he didn't think he could beat the man or B) someone wanted him to protect the overall investment. And, if he wants to speak out about this, I would be more then happy to conduct an interview and come straight at him with the facts.
Until next time, remember: Stating the obvious isn't always enough, sometimes you gotta hammer it home.
