The following content takes place following the events of the videos for Bloodlines III.
Bruce had shut the camera off and looked over at Sabrina Ramirez, who had just returned from running a few errands. The two had already expressed their thoughts on certain things, but to be face to face, they knew they had to have that conversation.
Sabrina: So, you killed that promo. I know you’re about to go out there, and turn up for real.
The youthful Ramirez walks over and sits on the couch. She looks at Bruce, her eyes inviting him to join her.
Bruce turns his attention to Sabrina’s fine self, he knew he couldn’t resist the soft words of her voice but moreso he couldn’t resist the seductive way she positioned herself, calling to him.
Bruce: Yo, already, ya man is comin’ right now tho!
He takes a breath and steps back, then leaps over the couch to land on the cushion, next to her.
Bruce: Ol B knows how to make an entrance eh?
Sabrina: That’s one thing I can’t argue.
She can’t help but laugh at his jumping over the couch.
Sabrina: You’re just like a big kid...always jumping all over the place. Reminds me of me.
The two laugh together as Sabrina turns on the couch to face him. She curls her legs up.
Sabrina: But, we should probably talk about the obvious Carmen...I mean elephant in the room.
Bruce’s eye’s light up at the mention of her name.
Sabrina: I need you to keep it 100 with me, okay? About everything...you love her, don’t you?
His eyes wandered to the floor before locking onto her beautiful blue eyes. Almost lost in space as he stared longer than he should have. But if you were dating Sabrina...wouldn’t you stare too?
Bruce: Sabsab...that’s a tough question. You kno I’m strugglin’ on it. You kno I gots love for you...but she and I. I mean it’s been all our lives of knowin’ the other. And I ain’t wanna hurt you, I care bout you way too much. But...when I went to Seattle, it was to close a chapter of my life. I was ready to accept we was at different places in life, different things we needed to do. I came all up in yo crib and for the first time in a long time, I was happy. You make me that way, But then this text from her...I can’t believe it. I just...I still ain’t kno how I’m s’ppose to feel tho. You the second serious girlfriend I had, Carmen is the first. And I’m feelin’ stuck in the middle b/c I’m indecisive.
Sabrina: And thats why I told you that you should go. I knew you were struggling with it, and I know your heart. I know you don’t want to hurt me, and I’m not hurt...I want YOU to be happy, and I have a lot to focus on anyway. SAP, the Rookie X cup, I’ve made a bunch of friends. I’ll be fine. I need to know that you are gonna be fine too.
She scoots closer to him on the couch, her eyes locked on his.
Sabrina: 17 years is a long time, Bruce. I get the feeling that the feelings you have for her aren’t going anywhere anytime soon and I’d rather realize and accept that now, rather than wait two years down the road and end up back in this same spot, you know?
Bruce: I kno. What you sayin’ is true. But...you kno the feels I gots for you ain’t goin’ anywhere either. You a special, one-of-a-kind girl, and I am crazy bout you! C-R-A-Z-Y! I ain’t wanna lose you babydoll. I ain’t. But then Carmen...I ain’t wanna lose that friendship. The one that got away. I kno I can’t be with both of you though. That ain’t fair to either of you.
Bruce stops, he takes a deep breath, starring into her eyes before stretching his arms out, doin’ the old behind the shoulders trick.
Bruce: I’m soundin’ awful wishy washy, I kno. Ol B sorry bout alla that.
Sabrina: You’re so funny. You wanna make everyone happy, even at the expense of your own feelings. I respect that, I love that about you, but I guess the best piece of advice I could give you is to follow your heart, and protect it at all times. I’m not out to hurt you, I doubt Carmen is out to hurt you, but don’t hurt yourself along the way.
Bruce: I do wanna make e’eryone happy. I ain’t want your first boyfriend to leave for an old sweetheart. I can’t help but feel ol B is letting you down. I kno you gon say I’m not. But that ain’t stop me from feelin’ that way. It’s been two months, but my love for you run deep. Future plans deep, if you catch my drift.
Slowly, he rubs his hand along Sabrina’s shoulder, caressing it.
Bruce: You so pretty babygirl.
Sabrina smiles, giving her petite body over to him as the touch of his hands on her shoulders is more than comforting, it’s relaxing.
Sabrina: Thanks papi...I have my mom to thank for that I guess.
In typical Sabrina fashion, she makes a lighthearted joke in even the most difficult time.
Sabrina: My love for you runs just as deep, which is why I’m telling you to go. Us? We might be breaking up, mutually, but we aren’t ending our friendship. You’re always gonna be stuck with my hyper, sometimes annoyingly so behind. Don’t think you’re shaking me that easily.
B can’t help but smirk at that.
Bruce: Ol B ain’t e’er losing you. Nah. You stuck with the big kid in a grown man body. You ain’t annoying - I think you’re cute at it. I’m glad I could keep you in my life like that, lucky you so understanding. You kno I have to talk to her one more time, you kno it. I can’t blow her off. But promise you ain’t forget bout Ol B when you get to the top?
Sabrina: Forget about you? I’m pretty sure we’re going to meet at the top, that’s where you heading, right?
She raises an eyebrow.
Sabrina: You aren’t about to settle for second best over in Alpha. Tell me I’m misinterpreting that.
She gives a glance to ‘Ol’ B’, smiling, just thinking back of all of the memories they’ve created.
Sabrina: And tell me one thing...if she hurts you, you let me know so I can hurt her.
Bruce: You already kno I’ma be a straight-up SupaSTAR!! On the real. We both gonna be representing our companies like that. Maybe we gon see SAP vs Alpha, Champion vs Champion? Maybe I’ma get a one-up over yo fast-countin’ butt.
B playfully winks at her.
Bruce: If she hurt me...I’ma need you to make me all better. You kno? I ain’t gon stop you from doin’ what you feel need to be done tho...or maybe. It’d be hard to watch the two I love fightin’ like that.
Sabrina: If she’s good to you, there won’t be any fighting.
Sabrina slowly pulls away from Bruce, and stands up.
Sabrina: You can stay here as long as you need to, but...this is it for us, right? I mean...like that, not as friends.
She asks, waiting for confirmation.
Bruce stares at her blankly. The words couldn’t find a way out of his mouth.
Bruce: I ain’t kno how to answer that. “It for us”. That’s a hard pill to swallow...babygirl………
He looks down at the floor again, trying to hide his eyes from hers, not wanting to show the teary response to her, but it doesn’t take long for her to walk over to him. She gently lifts his chin up and see’s the tears in his eyes.
Sabrina: This is up to you. I’m not saying we HAVE to end us, but if you go back to Seattle, you have to do it as just you, I can’t sit back here just waiting. I’m not mad over it, I understand, but you need to tell me what is what, B.
Sabrina now looks down, laughing. She eyes her pink socks, his black socks with holes on the top of the sock.
“Pink…” He laughed a little at. “That night…”
Bruce: I kno you can’t just sit back and wait. That ain’t nice to you. I loves you.
Sabrina: And I love you too...which is why I’m telling you...go. Go get your old sweetheart back.
She shakes her head at him, tearing up a little as well, but smiles through it.
Sabrina: I’m gonna be fine. Salvatore keeps me busy at the gym. I have Melissa here, Dylan, a growing fan base. I won’t be lonely and I won’t be bitter. At all.
Bruce: Sab…...can I?
He leans in closer, wrapping his arms around her petite frame in a firm hug.
Bruce: You a real woman. Not some girl playin’ games with a man’s heart. You gonna make someone a very happy, lucky man...like you made me. Now I ain’t wanna go. But I kno.
He sniffles, trying to speak through the emotions.
Bruce: I kno what you mean. I kno I’ma regret for years upon years if I don’t go and get the real closure one way or another. And I kno that ain’t no good for you either.
She stands up so that she’s eye to eye, and then leans on her tippy toes and places a kiss on his forehead. This was it. She knew it. He knew it, and as hard as it was, she had a feeling things would work out for both of them.
Sabrina: Things will work out how they’re supposed to.
She pulls away slowly and starts walking towards her room.
Sabrina: Think I’m gonna lay down for a lil’ bit. You’re free to come and go as you want, you have a key, okay?
Bruce: I kno. And thanks for that. You kno you gon be welcome to see me anytime, ya feel? Be it at the show, at the house, e’en at a diner for a burger or three. You got a piece of my heart babe. You keep that. You gon always have that.
He calls out as she walks down the hall.
Bruce: I can keep this piece of yours too?
Sabrina: You better, or I’ll hunt you down and jump on you.
Her quiet laugh escapes her petite body as she disappears, into her room. The two of them had just had one of the toughest conversations either could remember having. For Bruce, he was on to Alpha and a chance to become the true face of the brand. For Sabrina, she was headlining SAP and competing in the Rookie X cup. Professionally they were on similar paths on different roads, and personally, the feelings are there, but the timing wasn’t right. Who knew what the future would hold for them...to be continued.
