001 * Wonder
*We see a little blonde hair, blue eyed girl sitting crossed legged on a couch as on Frozen plays on the television. Enamoured with the likes of Sven, Olaf, Anna, and Elsa, she cannot take her eyes off of it. The camera is a bit shaky as it is being recorded on a cell phone. The camera pans as we see some a grouping of pictures show that it is a familiar face; Avery Miles III, Taylor Devereaux, and the young girl; Brooklyn Miles. Avery’s adopted daughter loves watching the movie at least three times a day, and has begun to memorize the words to ‘Let It Go’. The word “adopter” is one that Avery does not use. For all intensive purposes, she is his. And he, hers. The three of them, a family.*
Wonder. True wonder. Absolute, intense, great. Wonder. It is something that we have as a child. We find something new, or something mesmerizing. We want to watch a movie or a show over and over again. Watch the cartoons. Play with the toys. We play pretend. Cops and robbers. Cowboys and indians. True wonder is having a blank canvas in front of us, and imagining the possibilities. That is exactly what I bring to the Empire State. True wonder. What happens when this Cali boy comes to the East Coast and shows what he is made of?
We all have our own histories and experiences. Title reigns. Wins. Losses. But here? We get to start fresh. Start anew. And with that start, we jump right back into the blank canvas. So what is it about true wonder that adults yearn for and children have without having a second thought? Not being afraid of what is ahead of us. Good or bad, the decisions and choices we make shape us. Mold us. They are what makes us, well.... Us. For Brooklyn, she just sits and loses herself into a whole world of singing, snowmen, and wonder. She imagines being Anna or Elsa. She imagines hanging out with Olaf. She imagines riding Sven. It is that wonderful world of possibility that she loves. And it is the same sort of feeling that I have for Pro Wrestling Elite.
*Avery jumps over the back of the couch and lands on the cushion next to her as she bounces up from the couch, and giggles*
Daddy, you silly!
*Avery grabs her and tickles her, blowing a raspberry on the little girl’s tummy. Just a few months ago, Avery suffered a major loss and was a wreck. An expected father of two, he was forced to move on. And here we are now, he is a father of a beautiful three year old girl that he loves like his own. Life has a funny way of making things work out in the end, and for Avery, all of the heartbreak and pain he suffered through… just to become a father of her. The best moments of his life.*
I am making my first appearance in a brand new company. Much of it shrouded in mystery, but I plan on not only making the company known, but my own success in it. I have recently done a professional tour of companies in Las Vegas, stops in Texas, and most recently in Indy. And now? New York is a place that I call my own. Building it up from the ground floor, I intend to push the company as it pushes me.
It is wonder that PWE has for its talent as well. Wondering who will come out on top? Wondering who the leaders in the locker room are? Wondering who will stick around and who will be gone before the first show even airs.
For me… for PWE… and for little Brooklyn here… you can bank on the name “Miles” being one to be around to help the company. I have been around a little longer than some, and less than others. But those that know me, know I can be counted on. Know that I can be pushed as a leader, and a man of my word. I intend on bringing eyes to PWE, and a fair shake it was I am giving them. I may not have been the most successful everywhere I go, but that is not anyone’s fault. Perfect fit. Perfect situation. One can only wonder about how I will fit in there. But that same wonder, it leads to the thoughts of what I can accomplish here. Who will I face? Who will be in the way to stop me? Who will be my challengers? In due time, we will learn it all. We will learn what PWE has to offer. And what I have to offer it.
*Avery grabs the remote and turns it up a couple of times as Brooklyn cracks up laughing for the hundredth time thanks to Olaf and Sven. The interaction between the two of them, so very natural. To her young mind, he is the one and only man that is her father. He is the man that matters, and the man that will help to mold and shape her mind*
A great man once said “ask not what your country can do for you—ask what you can do for your country.” That man, John F. Kennedy. And I am not asking what PWE can do for me. I am asking, what can I do to make PWE a successful company and a destination for some of the best talent.
*Avery kisses Brooklyn on the forehead*
Daddy! Hug!
*He hugs the young toddler, as she wraps her arms around his neck. He gets up from the couch and heads into the kitchen. Taylor sees the interaction between her daughter and the new father. Without saying a word, she offers a simple kiss as the video fades to an end*
