Gavin is standing backstage, just outside of the entrance area and he is wearing his in ring gear still while he also has a bandage on his head from the head injury he suffered earlier in the night. Ashleigh had just finished winning the Five Lakes Championship and Gavin, despite being in a considerable amount of pain from the attack he took earlier, can barely contain himself as he waits for her to walk backstage. Ashleigh Jericho steps through the curtain with the Five Lakes Title over her shoulder. She scoffs as she glances at one of the stage hands.
Ashleigh Jericho: “Is Rydell for real? Trying to stare me down from the ramp? The last thing she is, is intimidating.”
Ashleigh's eyes fall on Gavin and immediately widen as she rushes towards him with concern.
Ashleigh Jericho: “Gavin, what are you doing?! You're supposed to be resting. You probably have a concussion.”
She frowns and shakes her head as she gently runs her hand along the edge of the bandage.
Gavin Grimes: “Sorry, I wanted to be the first person you saw when you walked back here but I guess that stage hand just ruined it.”
Gavin laughs before he gingerly wraps his arms around Ashleigh and pulls her in for a hug.
Gavin Grimes: ”I'm so, so proud of you.”
She smiles before returning the hug, although she handles him like he's made of glass.
Ashleigh Jericho: ”You don't have to apologize, it's just... beating Shelley is no big deal, your health is.”
She exhales as she eyes the bandage.
Ashleigh Jericho: ”How bad is it?”
He laughs and shakes his head.
Gavin Grimes: ”Not bad enough to the point where people are going to give you crap for going out and fighting in your match despite me being back here injured. The only person you might get crap from is probably me. HOW DARE YOU!”
Gavin laughs again and then grabs his back.
Gavin Grimes: ”Ouch... Okay, maybe no laughing for a couple of days.”
She rolls her eyes while shaking her head.
Ashleigh Jericho: ”Hey, you were conscious when I left you so that's WAY better than the state you left me in.”
She wrinkles her nose as she watches him grimace pain.
Ashleigh Jericho: ”So what's the verdict? Hospital or hotel? You need to get some rest.”
He smiles and nods.
Gavin Grimes: ”I'd rather go back to the hotel instead. I'm fine, I promise. I know what a concussion feels like and I don't have one. Just a couple of bumps and bruises... And a gash on my head. Nothing that you can't take care of.”
He smirks and gives her a wink as Ashleigh's eyes widen.
Ashleigh Jericho: ”And since when did I become a medical professional? You know level of expertise consists of purely of telling you to suck it up and get back out there, right?”
He smiles and gently shrugs.
Gavin Grimes: ”And that's why I love you.”
He taps the the Five Lakes Championship strapped over Ashleigh's shoulder and smirks.
Gavin Grimes: ”That belt has never looked so damn good until right now.”
She glances over at it and shrugs before biting her bottom lip.
Ashleigh Jericho: ”Only because right now I can see your reflection in it.”
She leans up on her toes and steals a quick kiss, perhaps a little too forceful of a kiss considering Gavin's current condition. Gavin can't help but smile after the kiss as he pretends he doesn't feel any pain.
Gavin Grimes: ”Is that all you got? Maybe we should say screw the hotel and go and celebrate you instead.”
She shakes her head and gently tweaks the tips of his nose.
Ashleigh Jericho: ”Nope. Hotel or hospital, those are your only two options. Besides, this isn't really an occasion that's all that worthy of a celebration. I beat Shelley Silver, big whoop.”
He grimaces as he wraps his arms around her again before stealing a kiss of his own. He then looks her in the eyes and smiles.
Gavin Grimes: ”You're right... I beat her and then destroyed Kenzie in the same night. She was just a flash-in-the-pan champion. You'll be the person to legitimize that belt.”
Gavin's hand then grasps Ash's as he nods his head toward their locker room.
Gavin Grimes: ”So hotel time then? And you're going to have to carry my bags, I'm fragile right now.”
A huge grin runs over his face and Ash rolls her eyes as she slides her arm around his waist to help support him.
Ashleigh Jericho: ”Please, when has, ‘the champ’ ever carried his own bags?”
He rolls his eyes as they gingerly make their way to the locker room.
Gavin Grimes: ”Not often since he's always had his queen there to help hold him up.”
She elbows him playfully in the ribs.
Ashleigh Jericho: ”You'd best be careful. I hear kings are being usurped and queens are taking over... and not the queens Jessica Sears and her brother are always tweeting about.”
He grimaces and forced out a smile after Ash playfully elbowed him in the ribs.
Gavin Grimes: ”If you're the one who ends up knocking me down a peg, then I wouldn't have it any other way.”
Ash shakes her head as they walk towards their locker room.
Ashleigh Jericho: ”It's not about knocking you down a peg, babe. It's about climbing up to join you.
Gavin squeezes her hand and smiles.
Gavin Grimes: ”Babe, no matter what, you'll always be in the same level as me.”
She smirks before cuddling in a little closer as they walk.
Ashleigh Jericho: ”So long as you see me that way, that's all that matters.”
Gavin Grimes: ”I always will. You're the best person I've ever known. I mean, who else would join the company that their fiancé is the face of after being the star in? You're amazing and selfless and if I could give you the world, I would”
She steals one last kiss while grinning ear to ear.
Ashleigh Jericho: ”You already do.”

[June 22nd, 2016]
The scene opens up with Gavin Grimes standing in a wrestling ring inside of what appears to be a wrestling school. The place is empty as Gavin is standing right in the center of the ring with his eyes closed. He takes in a deep breath and exhales before opening his eyes and staring into the camera.
Gavin Grimes: ”This is where it all started for me… In this wrestling ring here in Vegas where we are having ‘the ‘City of Sin’ PPV. Chris Night and Xavier Young took what was a green student with a bad attitude and turned him into what you see today. I come back home to Las Vegas, the city that made me who I am, to defend my NGW Unified Heavyweight Championship in what’s probably the biggest match of my career.
Gavin’s demeanor shift as his eyes are now staring daggers into the camera.
Gavin Grimes: ”Dirk Bentley, everything that has transpired has led up to this moment. I tried to get my hands on you two weeks ago but you hightailed it like a fucking coward. You think you’re the baddest player in the game? Bitch, please, you’re the biggest bitch in the game. You had to assault Ash with a full suit of body armor to make a fucking name for yourself. What is it that you told her? That you’re ‘Tired of being overlooked. Tired of being the punchline.’ The thing is, you attacked her and guess what? You’re still being overlooked and you’re still the fucking punchline. Want to know why you’re overlooked? Because nobody in their right mind believes that you’re going to win this match.”
“Want to know why you’re still a punchline? Because you’re still a babbling idiot who constantly puts his foot in his mouth time and time again. Speaking of putting your foot in your mouth, I remember when you were still in Inferno and I challenged you to come to NGW to fight me and you said you don’t fight ‘lower competition in lower companies.’ It’s weird how this is the company that’s still open but it’s even WEIRDER that you joined NGW and quit Inferno Wrestling before the company even closed. You’ve been here for a few months and the only claim to fame you have is that you assaulted Ashleigh Jericho and pissed off the wrestling world by being a complete and utter bitch. Do you really think that beating Corey Bull in a Stretcher Match did anything for your career?”
Gavin bursts into laughter as he shakes his head.
Gavin Grimes: ”Corey Bull hasn’t done shit here in NGW. Every time he’s been put in a high profile match, he’s failed every fucking time. Does his little Angelz of Dumbfucks group mean anything? It doesn’t. They’re all trash, HOT GARBAGE. I’ll give you some credit though, Bull went into full retard mode after you beat him and if Tropic Thunder taught me anything, it’s that YOU NEVER GO FULL RETARD!”
A stupid grin runs over Gavin’s face before he takes a few steps forward and places his hands on the top rope in front of him.
Gavin Grimes: ”But hey, going full retard is kind of your thing, Dirk. You’ve chased so much tail and have been denied so many fucking times that it’s pathetic. Even after you attacked Ash and became a ‘changed’ man, you were still trying to get into Tora Solgaard’s pants. She met you once and then any other time you’ve tweeted at her, she’s straight up ignored your ass. But let’s not forget that you have been married to Summer O’Reilly for ten fucking years. Sure, she bailed for a bit, but all she’s been doing lately is following you around like a lost puppy.”
“You’ve got a decent girl that wants you but you’re still chasing after chicks who refuse to give it up to you. As far as I’m concerned, that shit still makes you a laughing stock and it makes you look like a desperate and pathetic piece of shit. My favorite thing about you is that when you realize you can’t get with the chick, you start to talk shit about them and basically call them a whore because they wouldn’t put out to you.”
Gavin raises his arm up to his side as he shrugs with a grin on his face.
Gavin Grimes: ”You versus me, Dirk, this isn’t some fucking gimmick match like a stretcher match or a TLC match, it’s just a good ole regular matchup for my NGW Unified Heavyweight Championship. Who does that favor? Well, my track record so far here in NGW speaks for itself as I haven’t been pinned or submitted in any singles match, in fact, I’ve won all of them. I’ve fought tougher and more acclaimed competitors here in NGW compared to you and I beat them every time. Mark Storm, Bronx Valencene and even Kenzie Rydell, for christ sakes. Every single time, I’ve come out on top.”
“You want to know why that is? It’s because I’m the best in the ring when I step into it because I don’t take SHIT for granted. I don’t pick and choose when I want to try. You know what I mean? Like that half-assed effort you gave against Dean Judas when he dropped you with ease or how about the time you got your ass pinned at Versus by Jacob Daniels? Like I said before and I’ll say it again, all you and Corey Bull were for Ash and I, was cannon fodder. Do you really think you won that match? Bitch, please! Ashleigh and I won that match when I eliminated three of them and she eliminated one as me and her stood tall for NGW.”
“There’s a reason I am the NGW Unified Heavyweight Champion and she’s the NGW Five Lakes Champion, because we’re the top two competitors in this company. And before you bring up some shit about me not defending my belt against her, why would I even do that when both of us can hold the top two belts of the company and reign together, hand in hand? It’s not a matter of us being scared to fight each other, it’s a matter of it being a lot more fun for Ash and I to rule NGW as the faces of the company. Nobody ever says, ‘I’m going to join NGW to fight Dirk Bentley.’ No, they join so that they can fight Gavin Grimes or Ashleigh Jericho.”
Gavin drops down and slides out of the ring before making his way to the camera to where he’s only a few feet away now.
Gavin Grimes: ”One of the biggest differences between you and I, Dirk, is that everyone knows who in the hell I am. They know where I came from, they know my backstory, they know what kind of competitor I am and they know that I’m as blunt as they come when it comes to this business. But who is Dirk Bentley? You’re the guy who, in his thirties, is having an identity crisis. Isn’t it sad that at 22 years old that I’m more sure of myself than you could ever be? Isn’t it pathetic that in less than a year I’ve accomplished and done more than you have in your decade plus time in this business? You’re shit, Dirk. You’ve always been shit and you’ll always be shit. You legit stumbled into this match because there was nobody else to put against me besides you and Corey since other competitors have been more occupied.”
“Don’t believe me? Avery Miles III would be a more worthy opponent than you and there’s a reason he’s a double champion in NGW. Ash is busy being the Five Lakes Champion and Dean Judas, who I find to be quite the cunt, hasn’t been in NGW long enough to headline City of Sin with me. So here you are, once again as a fucking placeholder because everyone else was too busy or too new. Oh yes, you earned this by beating Corey, the guy who attacked me from behind so we didn’t have to have a match because HE KNEW that I would beat him. He was afraid of me and he had to resort to petty attacks, much like you, Dirk. I can see why you two bumbling idiots were teammates at one point because you both think at a fucking fifth grade level. Stupid is as stupid does, am I right?”
Gavin lets out a light laugh as he shakes his head.
Gavin Grimes: ”So what’s different, Dirk? Because as far as I can see it, I still see the same Dirk Bentley as before and the only difference is that you’re not desperately trying to be friends with everyone anymore. Do you really think that you’ve changed the perception in which people see you now? Do you believe that?! Because if you do then you’re a fucking idiot. Everyone still thinks you’re an illiterate, redneck, retard. You’re not clever, you’re not cunning, you’re just a fool who thinks that by wearing body armor and assaulting a woman outside of the ring with a baton will change his luck. That shit doesn’t MAKE YOU A BETTER WRESTLER! IT DOESN’T MAKE YOU ANY MORE INTIMIDATING!”
“So continue to bask in your moment from a month ago, Dirk. Bask in the fact that you FINALLY got one over on everyone. Because the fact of the matter is, that’s the last fucking time it’s going to happen for you when it comes to me or Ash. Every dog has it’s day Dirk… Sadly for you, your day passed a month ago. At City of Sin, I’m going to take the dog out back and put him down like I should have a long time ago…. Bitch.”
Gavin is glaring at the camera as he stands there and stares into it for a few seconds, letting his final words sink in for everyone watching. After about thirty seconds, he walks away from the scene and it fades out.
