Thursday June 16th 9:00 PM Las Vegas, Nevada - MGM Grand
{Scene opens as we see Dirk Bentley and man standing next to man wearing a pin stripe suit and a fedora hat. People that follow or even know of Dirk’s past would recognize the other man named Jack Diamond one half of a tag team known as “The Drifters”}
Jack: Hey slick, I heard you were out this way on a west coast swing with that new company that you’re touring with. Was hoping you’d drop in and say howdy. So, how’s life been treating you?
Dirk You know me, I can’t complain too much. It’s just like every other gig. Travelling from city to city, kicking ass and taking names.
{They both chuckle}
Jack: Well, let’s head over to my private bar and get a few drinks and catch up. That is if you have the time?
Dirk That sounds great. If it’s okay with you. I know you have connections here. I’ll just crash here tonight and head to San Diego tomorrow and get prepared for the show.
{The two men walk over and take a seat at an excluded private bar where they have their own personal bartender}
Jack: You know you’re always welcome here amigo. But, I’m going to be honest with you. I’ve got some tough questions for you while we’re enjoying ourselves.
Dirk Yeah, I figured you would. I owe you somewhat of an apology as well. But, sure… Fire away.
Jack: Apology? I’m not so sure about that. We’ll see. First and foremost, congratulations on your big win against Corey Bull. I know a lot of people doubted you. But, I made a killing here in Vegas. I told all these losers… When the chips are down… My money is on The Cowboy. You can only be pushed around and made to be the lackey for so long before you snap and show the world exactly who the fuck you are… and you did that in back to back weeks. First with Ashleigh and then with Corey Bull.
Dirk Thanks man, that means a lot coming from you. With Ashleigh I was just so tired of hearing how much of an angel she was. She is just as much of the devil as I am. The difference is, she uses Twitter to disarm the sheep that follow her. So, she can totally destroy someone in the ring, turn their personal life upside down, turn on her own tag team partner “to prove a point” then go on twitter and be all bubbly and act like she did them a favor. And all of her mindless sheep just fall back in line and continue to worship the ground she walks on. Hell man… even her own boyfriend is scared of her. He won’t admit it, but he knows full well that the ONLY reason he’s still champ in this place is because they haven’t fought for that Title and refuse to do so.
Jack: Wait, are you kidding me? What happened to healthy competition and may the best person win?
Dirk You don’t understand Ashleigh. You know how we thought Joey was hard to control and bat shit crazy at times? She doesn’t hold a candle to this fucking psychopath. Why do you think I went into that room wearing that padding? It’s hard to explain, in the ring she’s very meticulous and dangerous and doesn’t make mistakes often. But, I think she can still be beat. But, if you injure her outside the ring? All bets are off. She becomes this possessed wild fucking animal. And I just wasn’t taking that chance. Sure, I could have just ended her that night at Vendetta. But, that wasn’t the game plan. I want to beat the best. Now I am in her head and she knows one day soon we will meet in the ring and that match will be one to see.
Jack: Just like I thought, it sounds like none of this was a hasty decision and has been planned out for some time. What I don’t think was planned out and that absolutely floored me when I saw it was the news of Summer O’Reilly and you being married. After all these years and as close as we are… you didn’t think you could tell me?
Dirk {Takes a deep breath and then continues} Ah, this ones gonna take some alcohol. Let’s get a drink and I’ll fill you in on details.
Jack: Sure thing, I’m actually getting a little parched.
{They both order drinks from the bartender, Dirk taking a big swig of his Jack and Coke before speaking}
Dirk So, the gist of what Corey had to say was true. But, just like his matches all talk and hype, poor execution. Facts are about a decade ago Summer and I were seeing each other and she discovered she was pregnant. I was wrestling in the RWF at that time. She told me one night when we were out on the road. I wanted to do the right thing so we went to the courthouse and we got married. As time elapsed she began to show and stop travelling since we didn’t want the world to know our business. Then she lost the baby. I immediately went home to be with her. We talked and I said I would give up being a wrestler and devote my time to being a husband and we could try again at a family. She stated that she supported me and wanted me to continue wrestling as that was our main means of income. So I went back on the road and no one was none the wiser. We’d call and talk on the phone. Everything seemed fine. I assumed one day she would join me back on the road.
One night I returned home from a road trip to a house that had none of her belongings in it. Just a note on the dresser by the bed that said how sorry she was and that she needed to go back to Boston to be with her family. I was devastated. My world at that moment had just come crashing down. I instantly called her and she answered, we talked for hours. I realized after that call that she didn’t hate me. We just were not going to be together at least not at that time. We said our goodbyes and that we’d stay in touch. And I went back on the road. We talked several times through the years. We just never went and got divorced. As for why I didn’t tell you? I can’t answer that. I guess it’s always been a painful subject for me to deal with. It was easier leaving that part of my life in the past. But, every time she’d come back into my life… it’d be a reminder.
{Jack reaches out and hugs his best friend wholeheartedly}
Jack: Say no more man. I’m just glad that you didn’t think you couldn’t tell me for some reason. Now to one of the toughest things that we will talk about tonight. Summer O’Reilly… I saw her give you an ultimatum of sorts. What’s your thoughts or game plan with that?
Dirk I honestly don’t have a clue. She deserves closure just as much as I do on this chapter in our lives. I have to give her credit though. She was willing to take the ride and just be my advisor and look out for my wellbeing, watch me have my fun with the ladies and say nothing. Well almost nothing… she had her snarky comments from time to time when there was someone she didn’t like. But, for years I didn’t feel like I was married. In my opinion a “piece of paper” doesn’t make you married. It’s the time, effort and feelings that go along with it. And they simply were not there.
She’s been the only constant that I’ve ever known as far as a female. But, to be honest Jack… I just don’t know if I want to settle down or am ready to. When I do settle down, I want it to be my choice and not an ultimatum forced upon me. Does that make sense?
Jack: It makes perfect sense to me. Some free advice though… Don’t make this decision with your pecker.
Dirk Huh? What’s that supposed to mean?
Jack: Let me explain. The Dirk I know and had as a partner was always a skirt chasing, woman loving, whiskey drinking, hell raiser. That guy as far as women were concerned did all of his thinking with his dick. This decision should not and cannot be made the same way. Do not make this decision based on the fact that you won’t be able to be out chasing women any longer, don’t make it based on past events. Ask yourself a series of questions as they relate today… Do you still love her? Is she the one that makes you happy? Do you still believe she loves you? Can you spend the rest of your life happily with her? Is she the one that makes you want to get out of bed each morning? Answer those questions my friend… and you’ll find your answer.
Dirk Thanks Jack. As always, I think you’ve been a bigger help than you know. What do you say we have a few more drinks and call Summer and see if she wants to join us?
Jack: Sounds like the best idea I’ve heard all night.
{Scene fades as laughter is heard and the two men continue to enjoy their drinks}

Friday June 17th 2:00PM San Diego, California - Viejas Arena
{Scene opens on a shot of Dirk Bentley and Summer O’Reilly standing outside the entrance of the arena. After a few moments a camera crew arrive.}
Dirk About time you slackers got here. I told Devlin to have you assholes here at 2:00PM sharp. {Pausing for a moment} Who am I kidding, that prick probably told you guys to show up late. He’s been a little bitter towards me since I went and fucked up his cash cow Ashleigh Jericho. {Shrugs and then grabs the camera lens and glares directly into it} Get the fuck over it, otherwise I will give you something to really be bitter about. Got it? Now, let’s get inside and address the reason that we’re here today.
{Dirk and the camera crew make their way inside the arena}
Dirk Khonda, In just a little over twenty four hours a sellout crowd of nearly 12,000 plus will be filing through these halls to cheer the favorites and boo the hell out of people like me. {Smirking} And I wouldn’t have it any other way. This week gives me mixed feelings to say the least. Allow me to explain… Last week I was considered the overwhelming underdog. Why? Your guess is as good as mine. My guess is because I was being too soft on people. I let people believe that Corey Bull was the star of our dysfunctional tag team. After all he did toss me out in the battle royale match. Not making any excuses… But, to me a battle royale match may be used as a measuring stick of sorts. But, it’ll never measure true ability. Too many variables that allow it to turn into one big cluster fuck. No sir Khonda…. One on one… that is where shit hits the fan and ones true metal is tested. Then every tag match we had, it seemed like I was the one getting pinned, so I guess I could see some correlation as to why some might get the assumption that I was the weakest link.
{They continue to walk down the hallways of the arena, leading towards the entrance where the wrestlers will make their way to the ring}
Dirk Then there comes the match with you Khonda. {Chuckling} My how one week’s difference makes, I go from being the overwhelming underdog to the overwhelming favorite. There is no one that is giving you a snowball’s chance in hell of winning this match big man. I heard a rumbling in Vegas when I was there yesterday that there are actually people placing bets on you though. Because the odds are so high against you, I heard that someone said… Dirk may not have the focus needed to win this week. He has nothing to lose. He doesn’t “need” to win this match. He can lose and still go on to face Gavin Grimes for the NGW Unified Championship at the Pay Per View. {Summer and Dirk both begin to chuckle once again} How does that make you feel? To think that the only ones on the planet giving you ANY shot of winning this thing is if I don’t care enough to put forth the effort, or simply do not show up? {Shrugs} Seems logical to me. But, unfortunately for you Khonda… that’s a scenario that will not be played out come tomorrow night.
You decided to make yourself known as a great ally and friend to both Gavin Grimes and Ashleigh Jericho. If memory serves, I think you stated that you were going to get some measure of revenge for her against me? {Cackling loudly} The problem with that big man is what you have in passion and desire? You lack significantly in that killer instinct that you mentioned as well as skill. So far in your short career here in NGW you have not faced the level of competition that you’re about to be subjected to. You’ve had a lack luster career thus far here in NGW. You lost in that same battle royale that I did, and then the match you won was against John Fucking Blade and Xian Long {Golf Claps} Kudos to you. That’s something to hang your hat on. Then, due to your own stupidity and ego to defend Ashleigh they throw you directly into the fire with Satan himself…. ME!
{Summer followed by Dirk and the camera crew walk through the curtains from the backstage area, down the entrance ramp and climb into the ring}
Dirk Inside this squared circle, this is my home away from home. Over the past decade I have spent more time travelling and in this ring then at home sleeping in my own bed. If you think for one minute that I am going to let an obese chicken wing eating, broken English speaking, oversized diaper wearing cocksucker from Japan pin me in my fucking ring and make me a laughing stock? You’ve got another thing coming.
{Summer begins to chuckle again}
Dirk Now, don’t get me wrong Khonda, as I mentioned earlier. I’ve been in your shoes and was the overwhelming underdog and wanted to prove the entire world that they were betting on the wrong man. This is in no way meant to sound as the second coming of Corey Bull. We all know how well his rhetoric turned out for that inbred fuck. I know that you’re going to be bringing your “A” game and attempt to do everything you can to derail my momentum and help your buddy Gavin out and extract some measure of revenge for young Ashleigh. But, while you’re using those heart felt sentiments to motivate you in an attempt to defeat me? I am using those very same sentiments to fuel my hatred and distain towards you. Without those factors. This becomes just a normal match. But, since you where the badge of honor, professing your friendship and allegiance to them on your sleeve? That just gives me all the more fuel and ammunition to destroy you and not lose a moments of sleep over it. I believe that will conclude our little lesson for today Khonda. Get some rest big boy. You’re going to need it.
{Scene fades to black as Summer and Dirk exit the ring}
