Bottom Line Up Front: I'm out. Kem's spot needs to be filled in the Rising Stars match.
If you're interested in knowing why, continue. If not, keep having fun out there!
Any who, if you're this far, you want an explanation. Here goes:
1) My real life is struggling and there are few things I can excise. This is one of them.
2) Despite a storyline and RPs that I'm largely proud of, I'm feeling like Shakedown has become IPW's Wyatt Family: dependable for good promos and theoretically elevated enough to be a significant victory, but, when you really look at them, they can't be taken seriously.
3) I like titles. I like etching my name into history. Against IPW's past/present champions, I'm 0-9. Kem Dynamo's entire storyline reason for leaving her two fathers behind is largely wasted if she's never going to have anything to show for it.
4) I do not feel screwed over. While I've disagreed with some of the judgments, I am confident there was every intention to award me the victory had I deserved it. The fact that I've largely offered work I stand behind tells me there's a clear disconnect between what the judges value as excellence and what I define as excellence within the parameters of Shakedown's collective voice. Neither side is inherently wrong, but, just like a troubled romantic relationship, you sometimes have to accept that it's not working because it just won't ever work.
5) Finally, the timing is right. Shakedown has no titles nor feuds, and can say they served their purpose by inspiring the creation of Tag Team championships and then helping put over worthy champions. Also, in KID Dynamo's next chapter, I had to create a reason for Io to convince Kem to leave Indianapolis and meet with Kem's psychopathic terrorist aunt so that she can be held hostage by her now-insane adoptive mother, who already has said aunt & Kid Dynamo's wife imprisoned.
Thanks for letting me relive the days of back-and-forth trash talk. Follow me on Twitter at @owfkd & have a great day.
