::The following is a pre-recorded interview exclusive to IPW Monday Night Conflict::
The camera focuses in on the face of Melissa Greenway. She offers a wide smile before speaking.
MG: Welcome IPW fans. I hope that you’re all enjoying the show so far. Social Media has been abuzz with the battle for the Spotlight Championship, recently vacated by Jacob Daniels. The three woman all in contention have put up their arguments and now it's just a matter of who's going to put their money where their mouth is. I have the esteemed pleasure of having one of them agreeing to speak with me now. Please welcome, IPW’s darling, Emma Dylan
Emma walks onto the platform. She gives Melissa a smile and shakes her hand warmly before taking a place in one of the seats.
MG: Thank you so much for taking time out of your preparations to speak with us
Emma nods her head
ED: Of course, Love.
Melissa is quick to jump to her first question
MG: So how do you feel now entering your second opportunity for the Spotlight Championship. I bet the pressure is really building since not only did you lose but were the one pinned
Emma nods, a smile still on her face
ED: Daniels took an opportunity when it was presented. I would have done the same. As for how I feel? Well, I’m excited to get another shot. To get a chance to correct the mistakes I made last week.
MG: You’ve been pushing this new hashtag this week, one in which your opponent has picked apart in her last promo stating that basically you’ve been out to get her from the beginning
Emma starts chuckling
ED: Kiana ran out of things to talk about which is surprising considering that she seems to have a lot to say about how great and wonderful she is. The #ShouldaVotedEmmie thing was a joke. It was making fun of her for having to beg for endorsement on twitter and then seeing how people started to regret backing her as she showed her true colours. She took time out to once again try to twist my words around. I didn’t start anything, but awful funny that every time I tweet something, her pettiness forces her to try to one up me. Now tell me, Melissa, if you were really that secure in everything you were... would you need to reply to everything. To go out of your way to try and look better?
The interviewer shakes her head
ED: I admit, I have let my anger get the better of me in a few situations but never have I felt intimidated by her in any way. My confidence comes from a good upbringing and being taught that differences are okay. It has nothing to do with how many people I call friend
Melissa smiles.
MG: Some have called into question your charity work or lack thereof.
Emma once again nods her head
ED: I do quite a bit of charity work, I just don’t feel the need to advertise it on twitter for cheap praise. I’m not doing it to LOOK like a better person, I do it because I am a good person. I’m happy that she did something for charity but tell me... has she even mentioned on twitter what the charity was? Or was she too busy talking about how she won over my doppelganger, too busy using it as yet another thing to make HERSELF look good.
Melissa’s brows knit together
ED: I reckon most people didn’t even think of that part.
MG: And then Blair, the other opponent in your match has called you out on your words regarding her family
Emma leans forward
ED: Another case of watching and only taking from it what she needs to try and build a case but there is no foundation. She started out this week talking about how titles mean nothing to her and her family is everything. That she’s just here for the paycheck. Wrestlers do not make fantastic money. Especially in a new company. On top of that, I personally believe that this is a sport of passion. You don’t do it for money or fame. If you don’t care about anything but hurting people and getting paid, maybe she’s better off working for a mob boss or as bouncer. Why are you here exactly then? But at the end it was like she flipped and now is suddenly talking about titles she’s won in the last decade like I should be in awe of that. Where was that at the beginning of the week?
MG: Her record is impressive you can’t deny that
ED: And here’s the thing. Never have I said neither have skills. They are the types to take what they want and essentially make a mountain of a molehill. Were they really expecting I wouldn’t call them on their shit? I’ve never said I was a ‘nice’ girl. They assumed it.
Melissa clears her throat
MG: So you’ve made it clear your thoughts on being a champion all week, what’s next for the big girl warrior should she lose?
ED: I get up to fight another day. I lost the match last week, yet here I am trying again. It didn’t change how I think or my values. Losing isn’t going to make me bitter and jaded like my opponents seem to think it will. Everyone loses sometimes. I am human after all. Losing this match will just mean getting back up again and not letting anyone keep me down.
Melissa keeps a straight face
MG: Your opponents will claim you’re a fraud for not following through with your promises
Emma shakes her head
ED: And what promises are those?
MG: To Win and be a better champion than your predecessor.
ED: I never promised to win. And I will be a better champion, whether that happens Monday, two weeks from now or in a year. Who I am won’t change with a win or loss. Who I am was never dependant on that. The core of me is just who I am and the people who doubt me can do it until they're blue in the face but I will never let losses or lack of titles make me someone I’m not. Kiana only wants the title for recognition. To skip over everyone who has worked for years to get here. That’s fine. She needs an object for validation. I just need me for that.
Melissa nods her head, liking her answer
ED: If I don’t win, this time, I will next time but I have confidence that it won’t be me with her shoulders on the mat.
MG: Thank you for sitting down with me, Emma.
Emma takes the woman’s hand
ED: Anytime mate
MG: Now back to you at ringside
