The relationship of Hayden Phoenix and Isabella Rossi has been one of odds and ends. They began in what was known as NGSE less than a year ago; Rossi the girlfriend and trainee of the aspiring Hayden Phoenix. Hayden was both a Tag Team Champion and a People's Champion during his tenure in Professional Wrestling Today, and has been a Five Lakes Champion in New Generation Wrestling as of late. Isabella Rossi is a former CFL cheerleader that was a natural athlete. After seeing Hayden do his thing inside of the squared circle she wanted to have a go at it. Many long nights, bump, and bruises later Isabella is now a former NGW XX Champion and looking for the second championship in her young career. Over the past couple of months things have changed for the both of them. Hayden Phoenix was attempting to break out on his own without the help of Raymond Brothers, his mentor and long time friend. Phoenix matched up numerous times with Jimmy Stryker, an icon in this industry. To finally take down his nemesis and to walk away with that feeling of success, Hayden had to become a different man and dig down deep. That man was not the man that Isabella Rossi met years ago. The two of them slowly broke apart by both distance and goals, until where we are today. Isabella and Hayden are no longer a couple, though Hayden sees his pushing of Isabella away as helping her to ascend NGW. Hayden looks to continue his words of bringing stability to the Five Lakes division with another successful title defense while Isabella Rossi looks to become the first person in NGW to hold two different titles.
[The scene opens as we see Hayden Phoenix sitting up against a bay window as the little alcove in the front room allows for a seat. Hayden has purchased a home in Ohio as it is not too far from his home of Hamilton, Ontario while also being close to the headquarters of New Generation Wrestling. He sits in the front room with just a few low lights on, but nothing is illuminating the room too much. The leaves rustle as the fallen orange, reds, and yellows swirl across the front yard. Days away from the month of November, things were turning fast in Ohio. The temperature was dropping fast; for the most part, gone are the days of the 60's and 70's. Nighttime would dip into the lower 40's and possibly even the high 30's. Snowflakes were not an uncommon sight this early into the season; nothing measurable but enough to swirl across the interstate making your way down I-71 or I-77. As Hayden sits in the front window, he just relaxes and remains silent. The sound of the cold, late October wind blows as it causes the tree branches to reach out as if they were grabbing into the air. The light backlighting the area allows for a slight reflection of Hayden to appear in the window. He stares and lowers his head slightly]
Hayden: Winning... winning is not everything. I did all that I could to win. I dug as far into my soul as possible. I became someone that I hated. I pushed away others that I cared about. But was it worth it? Was it worth it all in the end? I question myself daily. It is just before midnight and as I stare to the outside, the fall season echoes the silence that I feel. Without anyone else to be here with me, what good does it make to be champion? I lost the one person that I cared about. Pushed her away. Did it help her? I am sure of it. But did it hurt her? I am also sure of it. It helped me to achieve what I needed to achieve.
[Another burst of wind goes by as a small branch from a nearby tree cracks. The branch falls to the ground and is taken across the yard in front of the window by the wind. It tussles and tumbles across the yard, until it is out of the eyesight of Hayden Phoenix]
Hayden: Beating Jimmy Stryker. Beating Charlie Ngatai for the Five Lakes Championship. Beating Tim Stone. And conquering the then-champion John William Kingsley. I have been on a streak as of late and look to continue defending my title. I told Charlie Ngatai when I beat him that I would hold up this title over and over again. Gone are the days of John Carter and KEG trading the title week-in and week-out. I have defended this title once already, and will continue to do so. Beating Isabella is not something that I choose to do, but she had her time and will continue to do great things. I need to help myself at Vendetta. I have already make two claims at the Heavyweight Championship, and more title defenses will only cement my place there. Both KEG and John Carter moved up from the Five Lakes Title to earning chances to fight for the Heavyweight Championship, but where are they now? Carter is gone. And KEG? He is fighting to stay relevant. I had my chance at the Heavyweight division before and blew it, but I won't allow for that to happen again.
[The light behind Hayden goes out as he sits in the darkness. The wind whistles between the houses as the entire house is silent short of the creaking sounds of an older home]
Hayden: Being torn is a position that I do not want to be in. Having to face my former... Isabella. I do not want to stifle her or her position with this company, but even with a loss I know that she will rebound. She needs to know that this is nothing personal. This is just business. I am here to represent myself... the Five Lakes Division... New Generation Wrestling. I need to put forth the best effort that I can, but I do not want to humiliate her either. I want to be fair, but fierce. I will have to sit back and wait to hear what she has to say. Will it be personal for her? I am sure. Will she be professional? I would hope so. At the end of the day Isabella is another opponent that I have to overcome. She will be a great challenger, but I won't let up until I hear the bell ring and my arm is raised.
[Hayden slips backwards into the house away from the window as another group of fallen leaves makes its way across the front yard]
