Prince Wadjethotep sits inside the Value City Arena. He is in section 128, nearly in the middle of the seats. He is leaning back into the chair with one foot resting on the seat in front of him. The New Zealand title resting in his lap.
“Well Carmine, looks like this is the place where you and I will do battle. It’s so quiet in here. In a few days it will be the exact opposite. Over 18,000 people could be in here. Many of them rooting for different wrestlers but I’m sure you’re confident that you’ve got them all in your back pocket. I mean you are Mr. NGW aren’t you? No, you’re not. See you were Mr. NGSE. A time in the company's history that isn’t looked upon fondly. A time when vagrants and vagabonds flooded its halls. Most of them never being any good. One of those is you Carmine. A man who is desperately trying to hold on with all the change going on around you. You have become dated Carmine. A relic from a past time in this company. A man who wants to reestablish his place at the top. Except he can’t quite climb the mountain like he used to. I stand atop that mountain Carmine. It is where I stay. Where I belong. I have built four strong walls. I am not going anywhere.”
“I am the next generation that NGW wants and needs. I am the light bearer that can lead them into uncharted territories. I am the ace that you could and never will be. I am a champion. You are a lost and wayward soul. This is no longer your place. This is no longer your home. I have been brought here to prove that. To usurp you of your place at the top of the card. You may not like that but it's something you do not have a choice in. See Carmine you complain of being compared to the cookie cutter type. Truth hurts doesn’t it? Carmine you are not the champion you think you are. You are barely a competitor. This company is passing by you as you grow. You should just take the hint and be put out to pasture. You are not that unique little snowflake. You are the average man. Maybe that’s why some people choose to relate to you. Because they know you are no better than them. While I am a cut above. Towering head and shoulders above them. Reminding them that they are the ones that can not reach their dreams. Not because they didn’t try enough but simply because they lack the talent.”
“Carmine I could care less about your past. All that matters to me is when I make the present you tap out. Or you don’t even have to tap out. It’s ok. You can be the tough guy and just try to hold on. Eventually your oxygen supply will diminish and you will be out cold. But then you can call to those around you. Standing tall on your soapbox about how strong you were. How you refused to tap out. How even in the losing end you are still the hero. That’s one right out of the Hayden Phoenix playbook. You two remind me a lot of each other. Loudmouths who are unable to back up the words that utter forth from your mouth. However that’s a topic for another day. Let’s get back to your past for a moment Carmine. After Victory and Honor that’s all this will be. The past. Another moment you will look back on in discontent when the memories arrive. When you are forced to relive the exact moments when it became apparent to you that it was over. That you were no match. Then when the bell rings you will remember staring at this ceiling. You will remember the exact placement of each of the rafters. The moment will be etched into your brain until the day you leave this earth. It will be the moment when you come to terms with the fact that your best days in this business are far behind you.”
“I mean look at you Carmine. Lamenting about how you wish you had the NGW Heavyweight title for our match. If you had cared enough maybe you would have never lost the title. Maybe you would have stepped up to the plate and beat John William Kingsley. Instead you let everyone down. You let Devlin Scott down. You let the fans of NGW down. You let me down. I only asked one thing of you Carmine. One thing. To simply have that title when I strolled into town. Apparently the pressure was too much. Or that it was just inevitable that when it mattered the most you couldn’t come through. See Carmine I feel as if you don’t handle well under the pressure. When the whole world is staring at you. Waiting and hoping for you to come through. However that never happens. Instead they are all left with a bad taste in their mouth. Don’t worry Carmine I have the remedy for this. After the beating I will lay upon you, you can be sent back to the midcard where you belong.”
“Carmine you are at quite the disadvantage here. More than you know or could even imagine. See you read two out of three falls and think that this could go either way. That you still have a fighting chance. I look at two out of three falls and I think I’m nearly guaranteed a win. You might say that’s cocky. I say it’s confidence. Carmine I have been in a number of endurance matches. From two out of three falls to iron man. If I was to have any specialty matches they would be it. The terrible thing for you is that you now have to face me in one. I love these matches Carmine. You have to be at your best for them. You have to be as strong mentally as you are physically. Being able to plan things four or five moves up the road before you’ve even made your first. These are the matches I live for. These are the matches where I can show the world exactly who I am and what I’m about. This title. The title I’m defending against you. I won in an iron man match. Not your regular iron man match either. Every fifteen minutes another stipulation was added on. Could you imagine being in that Carmine? Could you imagine everything around you being flipped upside down yet having to maintain composure to ensure victory? As the match added streetfight rules. Then have a chain placed around your neck for a dog collar match. Then finally topped off with a Texas deathmatch? I don’t think you would have been able to do it Carmine. It’s fine. Neither was Hayden Phoenix. So go ahead ask him. Ask Hayden what it’s like to be across the ring from me what happens when the match keeps going and I keep chugging along. When the moment becomes apparent that I still have plenty of gas left in the tank. Two out of three falls matches are unique though Carmine. There is no time limit. There is nothing saying we could go past sixty minutes. We could go ninety minutes. Maybe even two hours. As long as it takes I will still be there. I will still be dangerous. I will still be able to end the match at a moment’s notice. I am the most dangerous opponent you have ever faced Carmine. I may not be threatening in size Carmine. I know that. You tower over me. It doesn’t frighten me Carmine. You’re not the biggest man I’ve faced. I’ve made people that would dwarf you tap out. All I need is one opening. One free limb to grab on too. That's all it takes. You were at a disadvantage before the stipulation was even made. Now you have no hope. I'm going into this match champion and I'm leaving it champion."
The scene then fades to black.
